From 10 December face coverings will be required by law in most indoor settings, including cinemas and theatres. This is already required on public transport, in shops and communal areas of universities, colleges and schools by staff and students in year 7 and above.

From 13 December people who can work from home should do so.

Also from next week, a COVID pass or negative lateral flow test is needed for entry into clubs and some other venues.

Everyone is asked to get a COVID-19 vaccination. People over 40 can now get a booster and the gap between the 2nd and 3rd jab has been reduced from 6 to 3 months. The NHS will let you know when it's your turn. If you’re eligible you can book online at www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination
